The purpose of this website is to inform and engage people about the value and benefits of tobacco harm reduction (THR), to prevent tobacco-related disease and premature death.

As a go-to digital resource for public health advocates, influencers, communities, the public, health professionals and the media, it provides comprehensive, science-based information on tobacco harm reduction. It also provides advocacy tools and guidelines for those who want to promote the development and establishment of harm reduction policies, science, regulated products and consumer empowerment.

Tobaccoharmreduction.net has four major objectives:

  • Raise awareness of the benefits of tobacco harm reduction and involve public health professionals and influencers
  • Help build and promote the scientific evidence base for tobacco harm reduction
  • Empower adult smokers with expert knowledge to quit smoking or switch to less harmful products
  • Advocate for proportionate, risk - based regulations for reduced risk products, while supporting the implementation of the FCTC for tobacco products
